what a random day.....

well well, its been a rather strange day! I have been steadily prepping for the Easter weekend craft fair after taking a month off, and thinking I must get back into things, then all of a sudden I have orders coming in from all over the place, and I'm now as busy as I would hope to be...looking forward to Sunday, trading at Inn on the Park in St Albans, and keeping my fingers crossed that the weather is kind! here is a preview of some new ranges, I promise there WILL be better photos, but I really get excited about new products and have to share them! feedback as always is most welcome.

Me&My week....

its been a busy week......

I'm going to be trading over Easter weekend at Inn on the park in St Albans, and iv been whipping up these soft toy bunnies like there is no tomorrow, I started with idea Id make just 3, and they have rapidly become my new obsession, it uses up pretty fabric and they are easy to make, and now I have a whole warren of rabbits! I also took my son shopping for new clothes, but he is his own fashionista and insisted all he needed where some sunnnies and a straw hat! (its currently SNOWING!) and of cause, last weekend was St Patricks day, so he had to Honor his roots and rock the Irish shirt

Bring on Spring!

its been nearly a month since I last sat down to write on this blog....
its simply been a crazy crazy month, family illness taking centre stage, many trips back and forth to London to see sick family member (who is getting better) house purchase falling through because the house turned out to need MAJOR renovation, so back to looking for a new house to buy, and the fact that at 4 months pregnant I'm feeling rough!work has definitely taken a back seat, I have been sewing little things, mostly to keep me busy and because I can zone out and just enjoy a simple task. but I cant help but stare at the pile of beautiful fabric, half finished t-shirts and patterns strewn around my studio and think I must just jump straight back in.....and I might just do that.

I did however find time to make this little fleece rabbit, took all of an hour, but it is my sons new favorite toy, expect to see many more of these, as I have many friends with babies, and many metres of fleece!

I have been really lazy....

Hello again....
its been slow progress here at Me&My, in between a child with a never ending list of winter ailments, from coughs to colds, throat infections to ear infections I cant think of a week he hasn't been ill in the past month...and packing up our cottage and heading 20 miles north to Bedford where we finally bought our first home, I really havnt so much as picked up a needle or dusted off my sewing machine since December! :-)

Being from London, and spending most of my childhood in just one place and one house I always thought Id follow suit, but I have moved something like 8 times in 8 years! so clearly the nomad in me wont stay put! However, there is something about buying a house which makes it seem all the more permanent, I am already dreaming of colour schemes on walls, tiles in the kitchen and 'upcycling' all my furniture....so business has been on the back burner. However, there are a few things in the pipe line and once I dig out my camera charger (which along with socks and snacks seems to go missing at an alarming rate) I will stock up my Etsy shop with new tees and baby grows, in fact I may even do it this weekend just because its about time!   here are some things Iv been messing around with, badges and hair clips....(terrible photos...damn you missing camera charger!!)

2013

its been an eventful few months at Me&My, a year ago we didn't even exist! and now plans are being made, designs created and a whole new year to plan for, its been at times very hard to stay motivated, the UK is in a recession, no one has any money, and starting a business seemed like the most ridiculous idea to even attempt, yet, it keeps moving forward, more orders keep being taken, more stockists added and more joy given in all the little processes and challenges that make up running a business. Exciting times ahead. branching out from just T-shirts and accessories into skirts, trousers and fabric lines, packages of Me&My clothing have been sent to as far as China, the US and Germany, and each and every customer has been valued and appreciated. so see you all in 2013! and THANKYOU for all the amazing support.

Me&My snap shot of Xmas.

snap shots of Me&My Christmas 2012....

Turkey wasn't on the menu this year, instead there was a glazed ham, mini bunting decorated the fire place, my 3year olds handmade bowl and snowman card took pride of place, and 24 mince pies were made and consumed in one night!

Me&My home made Xmas

Well, there is just a WEEK till the big day and I feel like I have been prepping for Xmas for months! I still have lots of last minute makes to be getting on with, so Me&My is on a little festive break, spring /summer '13 designs are all done, and exciting things in the pipe line with a few retailers, so for now its time to sit back and marvel at how this time last year Me&My wasn't even an idea let alone a real business! hurrey for 2012, roll on 2013!

So,its been an eventful few days,
Saturday saw Me&My at the Vintage Tea Party & Gift Fair, its become something of a regular craft fair for us, its the very first fair we launched at and over the past few month its provided us with a great platform for showcasing our newest designs, but alas, last Saturday was (probably) our last one, its been informative, fun and we have made great friends, but in the new year Me&My will be sold via retailers and our online shop only.

a bit of this....a bit of that.....

When I'm not making kids clothing, I often find myself messing around with felt, I like it because it requires no seaming, it cuts like a dream and you can make very teeny things with it, so I started with an idea for a badge, having done a lot of craft fairs, I have found the 'pocket money' toys sure do get attention and I always like to have a few small things on the stall, I started with the fox, then decided to try a bear, a few hours after this photo was taken i ended up with 4 foxes, 4 Reindeer, 4 bears and 4 Mice...all in all a pleasant day spent sewing, tomorrow its back to the day job, whipping up 7 snowman jumpers!

sneak preview of 2013 designs.....(excuse poor photo quality, my camera has died on me)what do you think?

Me&My at Raindrops on Roses

Good afternoon from a very cold and windy St Albans! the weather has been unpredictable to say the least, but great day for drying clothes on the line! so Christmas orders and prep are in full swing... gearing up for Xmas fairs in London, and designing next years spring/summer range....
Also had a sneak peek in a local shop- Ranindrops on Roses, its a fantastic little shop that is doing a truly wonderful thing for the local community, it stocks up and coming designers and crafts people, giving them a platform for their work to be seen, AND all their profits go to a local cancer Charity too,so that's two big reasons to feel good about spending money! the shop is staffed by volunteers and its a treasure trove of awesome finds, spotted nestled amongst them were some Me&My kids tops!
here are my sneaky pics!

for more info on raindrops on roses you can find them here- www.facebook.com/RaindropsOnRosesStAlbans

Christmassy prep!

Hello! we have been off radar for a while prepping for Christmas fairs and working on the Spring/Summer 13 range, not to mention stitching up what has 'felt' like a million little decorations! (excuse the pun!) these always go down well at fairs, and the rest end up on our tree! this years theme is 'woodland' but couldn't resist trying out felt baubles and mini bunting (its wound round the back of a chair, that's how teeny it is!)

Me&My Week.....

Snap shot of Me&My week, Fireworks, Craft Fairs, and splashing in puddles.

Yesterday saw Me&My at our regular spot at the Vintage Tea Party and Gift Fair, it was pretty quite, and pretty cold, but we traders put the world to rights, drank our body weight in tea and worked out little socks off! The Rudolf Sweater has been a big hit, people ate obviously feeling festive, as they are now limited edition due to demand! We are also now available on Etsy! at MeMyUk, so check it out in the next few days for limited run items, such as long sleeved applique robin tees and exclusive to Etsy sweaters!
Hope you all had a lovely Guy Fawkes night (if in the UK) The little man was finally persuaded that woolly hats are cool.
